Dr. Anitha Rao is a distinguished physician executive with a unique combination of clinical expertise, entrepreneurial acumen, board governance, and strategic leadership. As a board-certified neurologist with fellowship training in cognitive neurology, Alzheimer's disease, and neurodegenerative disorders, Dr. Rao brings invaluable clinical insights and a deep understanding of complex neurological conditions. Her commitment to patient-centric care is further exemplified by her ongoing part-time clinical practice for over a decade.
Dr. Rao's leadership capabilities are evident in her roles as a national board member for the Lewy Body Dementia Association and her service on the Safety and Quality Committee Board at the Froedtert and ThedaCare Health Systems, a prominent network of 18 hospitals spanning 17 counties in Wisconsin. Her entrepreneurial spirit has also been demonstrated through her successful tenure as the CEO and Head of Analytics at Neurocern, a seed-funded artificial intelligence company, where she led a team of data scientists, spearheaded product strategy, and secured commercial contracts with Fortune 500 insurance companies. Her research and work on “Dementia Neurology Deserts” was covered by the Washington Post, Forbes Magazine, and Society of Actuaries.
With an educational background that includes a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Toledo College of Medicine, a Master's in Medical Anthropology from Case Western Reserve University, a Neurology Residency from Case Western Reserve University, and Fellowship training from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Dr. Rao possesses a diverse and comprehensive understanding of the healthcare landscape.
She lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan with her family and puppy, Chinotto.
